To me it looks a bit like an little man which is supposed to be an Olympic flame logo, but maybe that's just me. :-)

I suggested and designed the new logo. So let me know if I should take a bow for it or turn around for a butt kick ;-)
Anyway I was a bit fed up with the old thing.

Well, what should be rgb (from left to right) looks to me like brg - perhaps the order of the colors should be changed?

@ our Lennie Yeah it does,,,, what i cant understand is, it took weeks for everyone to come to an agreement on the first design, and now its been altered without as much as a if you please....

Well, I think it looks nice. It looks like a proper logo, it has the colours, and it looks like a young plant, which is what we are.
Mike, are you saying permission is needed from everyone to create something new? We certainly needed something other than those squares. Our next comp was going to be a link logo. If something better is created, perhaps that could be used. For now, I think it's great.

sorry, guys... i wasn't involved yet when the sitewas being put together... so i'm not sure about how a quorum was put together on pretty much anything...
Do i like the new logo? hey, it isn't half bad... and it's still an improvement over the little squares we used to have... are there other ways to go creatively? oh yeah... but hey, it's not bad, and it was done and given with the best of intentions. these alone merit our appreciation and respect.
Mike, it would be nice to be a bit more of a gentleman and address your concerns to the lady properly...

I, personally, don't doubt the intentions in having the best possible logo for RGBstock, and believe nobody else does either.
Seeing a new logo, out of the blue, will surely raise questions in some/many of us.
Having some info - officially - about the issue would save us from defensive behaviour, which is not the intent of the community.
Is a new logo needed? If yes, will the community be allowed to submit a logo application?
This can surely be done well, and still be fun and enjoyed/appreciated by the entire community, can't it?

It's a tiny little logo. Heaven help us when a really important issue arises. We are having a competition for a new one shortly. Last time we tried to create one, none looked as professional as we need. This one looks good, I think. Much better than the squares. Jay and Lennie work long hours on getting the site up to scratch and they do a lot that goes unsung. But put up a little logo, and everyone suddenly takes it as a personal insult. I think its a bit of an over-reaction. And Mike, you removed all your images and you want an "if you please" for the logo?
Did anyone notice the blurbs on the front page? Anyone offer to rewrite them? No. I did. And the FAQ. Should I have asked for permission from all members first? Should I have had a quorum to do that? Anyone want to rewrite the terms of use and image licence?
Anyone on this site can suggest or offer to help at any time. And if you're so concerned, design something better. And while you're at it, look at the other issues and write or create solutions for them. Sniping at people who are doing their best to help is just discouraging.
Anyone care to design the competition, rules, method of judging, and contact all members? You may volunteer here.

There is a lot going on as this site develops so we will need someone to volunteer to run the contest.
