Watch 2:45 hours of introductory video on the new features presented by Jan Kabili and hosted at Lynda.com.
Masking, selection, HDR, content aware fill, puppet warp, painting and noise reduction have been added or improved as well as performance enhancements of the software.
The videos are free to view and the new features make this edition very exciting indeed.
Only the intro is free :( Sorry guys.
The intro is worth watching though, and a one month subscription to Lynda.com is the best training for the buck you are going to find.
As rumored, Adobe has launched Photoshop CS5 and CS5 Extended - the latest versions of its image manipulation software. They will be available separately or as components of the Creative Suite 5 family of design and production software bundles. Both include revised interfaces and a host of new tools and refinements (discussed in the accompanying story). Photoshop CS5 and CS5 Extended are expected to begin shipping next month for around US Dollar 699 and 999 Dollar. Licensed users of the previous versions can upgrade for 149 Dollar and 349 Dollar respectively.
That is a lot of money. Ill stick to CS3, I suppose.
Since you have CS3 Jay, you can upgrade to CS5 for only 199 USD.
That's still a chunk but worth it for this version.
At least get the one month trial when it becomes available and take it for a spin.
